A-TEAM

Roxodus’s A-Team is a team of volunteers who supports the festival’s accessibility policies by helping out volunteers and patrons with accessibility issues around and across our festival grounds.

DUTIES

  • support volunteers & patrons who have physical disabilities to get from point A to point B on the festival site
  • provide details on the best routes to access certain areas of the site volunteer perspective Requirements:
  • must be 16 years of age or over
  • this position requires individuals who are flexible & energetic
  • must work efficiently with or without direct supervision Skills:
  • able to communicate effectively in writing
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • bilingualism

If so, consider working with the Backstage Services team in a variety of roles where you’ll get to be a part of the excitement behind the scenes.

BACKSTAGE services is responsible for addressing artists’ requests and is located behind or near each stage. Volunteers in this area are expected to demonstrate exceptional professionalism, maturity and commitment. **This is a privately-recruited area that provides great motivation to volunteers to practice and strengthen their management skills because leadership positions in this area are staffed from within.

FOR ALL BACKSTAGE VOLUNTEERS Duties:

  • this position requires individuals to be flexible, energetic & patient
  • must work efficiently, individually or with a small team, with little or no supervision
  • the success of volunteers in this position depends on their ability to follow very specific instructions

Do you think beer and festivals go together like peanut butter and jelly? If you’re 19 years of age or older, join the Crazy Town Saloon team where you’ll be working in the heart of the festival serving and selling some fine suds from the Crazy Town Saloon to our thirsty customers.

Gates

Gates volunteers support the overall effective operation of admissions for all marked ticketed entry and exit points at Roxodus, as well as traffic control entry points. This is an exciting area, as it’s the first contact patrons have with volunteers when they reach the festival site. Volunteers move huge crowds of people in and out of the festival site very quickly and have a great deal of fun while doing it. Gates’ leadership positions are staffed from within, so this is an excellent opportunity to practice and enhance leadership skills. Duties in this area are varied and will be assigned by a supervisor on a shift-by-shift basis.

FOR GATE MONITORS Duties:

  • scan patron tickets
  • answer festival-related questions Requirements:

Have you always wanted to sit at the front desk of a major corporation? Do you have a knack for giving directions? If so, consider working in the Admin Office where you’ll be answering any and all manner of festival questions and helping our patrons navigate the Roxodus Festival grounds.

Admin Office

Volunteers are responsible for answering telephones, responding to festival related questions and managing the festival Lost and Found.

DUTIES

  • answer telephone & face-to-face inquiries
  • manage staff & volunteer communication area
  • monitor radio & walkie-talkie distribution
  • give directions
  • data entry
  • bring items to other areas onsite, as required Requirements:
  • must be 18 years of age or over
  • this position requires individuals to be flexible & energetic
  • must work efficiently with little or no supervision
  • willing to sit for extended periods
  • although primarily indoors, some outdoor tasks may be required
  • some lifting may be required
  • strong customer service skills ● exceptional attention to detail

Merch Tent

If so, join our energetic Green Team and assist in implementing Roxodus Festival environmental policies & greening initiatives to keep the festival clean and the people breathing easy.

Green Team

Green Team is a group of environmentally-conscious volunteers who are responsible for supporting the effective operation of all greening initiatives, including composting & recycling, and patron education at Roxodus Festival

DUTIES

  • empty & sort recycling containers throughout the site
  • collect compost materials
  • support the overall goal of Green Team by engaging festival volunteers and answering questions about environmental strategies
  • encourage people to use the new waste reduction facilities, such as recycling bins Requirements: ● must be 16 years of age or over
  • this position requires individuals to be energetic & motivated
  • must work efficiently in teams of 2-3 with little to no direct supervision
  • must wear non-slip, closed-toed shoes (e.g. runners)
  • must bring appropriate clothing and footwear for all types of weather (e.g. sun, rain, wind)
  • knowledge of environmental issues
  • able to maneuver site without assistance
  • willing to work in all types of weather
  • willing to stand for long periods of time
  • some heavy lifting will be required.

Informer

Info volunteers also provide information to individual festival patrons, or large groups of patrons, at various locations throughout the site including outside the main gate. Duties in this area are varied and will be assigned by a supervisor on a shift-by-shift basis.

DUTIES

  • answer face-to-face inquiries about ticket purchases & pick up, gate entrances, etc.
  • provide directions to the festival grounds and/or entrances
  • provide information & directions to patrons entering the festival site, as required
  • must be 16 years of age or over
  • this position requires individuals to be flexible & energetic
  • must work efficiently with a partner, with or without direct supervision
  • must have a clear understanding of the site layout
  • must feel comfortable speaking to large groups of people
  • willing to stand for long periods of time
